Shanti is a music industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, rising from intern to Executive Vice President at major labels like Capitol, LaFace, Columbia, Sony Urban, and Universal Motown. She played a key role in promoting iconic artists such as OutKast, Usher, Prince, TLC, and Erykah Badu. In 2009, after personal struggles with mental health and witnessing its impact on loved ones, Shanti shifted her focus to community work and founded her nonprofit, The Hip-Hop Professional Foundation, later rebranded as Silence the Shame, Inc., a pioneering mental health movement.
Silence the Shame has gained national recognition, with May 5th officially designated as National Silence the Shame Day. The organization offers wellness training, educational content, and community-based mental health support. Shanti is also a sought-after speaker, leading conversations at top companies and universities across the country. In 2023, she launched a new brand, mibo, centered on mind and body wellness, and will debut The Mibo Show podcast featuring candid wellness conversations with high-profile guests.
